I’m running for the Farmington Public Schools Board of Education because I believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive, and every family deserves to be heard. As a mother of two students in the district, I see both its strengths and the places where we can do better. As a parent advocate and community leader, I’ve spent years bringing families together, supporting students through free tutoring, and asking the questions that lead to action. I’m running to expand that work across our district. My focus is simple: engage families, elevate learning, and embrace the future. I’ll listen, look at the data, and work with educators and families to make decisions that serve all our students. I’m already showing up for our schools. Now I’m asking for the chance to serve them on the board.
The issues I most want to tackle are student achievement, family communication, and preparing students for what comes next. First, we need to identify learning gaps early and make sure students get effective support, whether they need help catching up or opportunities to be challenged. I want the district to use clear data to see what’s working and change course when it isn’t. Second, families should be able to understand how their children are doing and get timely answers when they need help. Stronger communication and partnership with educators can make a real difference for students. Third, students need meaningful paths toward college, skilled trades, and careers. I want them exposed to those possibilities early enough to explore their interests and make informed choices. Across all three priorities, I’ll ask how each decision serves students throughout our district and how we’ll measure whether it helped.
